Caterpillar Foundation Donates $10 Million to Global COVID-19 Response Efforts

On March 30, the Caterpillar Foundation announced an $8.5 million donation to support global COVID-19 relief efforts. This commitment included a limited time 2:1 Foundation match on eligible U.S. employee and retiree donations. The response was overwhelming. As a result, the Foundation increased its initial matching funds cap from $1 million to $2.5 million, bringing the Foundation’s total donation to $10 million.

The Foundation’s investment will support nonprofit organizations who are working to help prevent, detect and respond to the pandemic; providing resources to hospitals, medical staff and patients; addressing food insecurity; and enabling online STEM and coding education for youth impacted by school closures.

Recognizing Essential Workers

We know the world of work is changing. But one thing that hasn’t changed is the hustle. We wanted to say thank you to the unsung heroes who have showed us what it means to show up. When everything seems to hit pause, they keep charging forward. We gifted pairs of our Sprint safety shoes to delivery workers and were proud to shed light on the amazing individuals who work day in and day out to ensure the world keeps going. Join us as we highlight them and share their stories on social media. Follow along @catfootwear.

Supporting All Industrial Athletes.

Cat Footwear Gratitude Program

We celebrate all industrial athletes. We teamed up with some of our brand ambassadors to surprise their own delivery drivers with a care package, including a pair of Sprint shoes, snacks, hand sanitizer and other things to keep them going. If you work in warehouses, logistics, delivery, food service, critical construction and more, we are giving away pairs of our Sprint safety shoes and Cat gloves free of charge to support you. Join our Gratitude Program by completing the request form or using #deliveringgratitude to nominate someone who deserves the recognition. Learn More.

Supporting Local Makers & Community

Big Build Off x Cat Footwear

Cat Footwear is supporting small makers and DIYers through our sponsorship of the Big Build Off YouTube series, which includes boots for each participant, as well as the supplies to build a dining room table. With the first episode premiering May 15th, four woodworkers are taking on the challenge to build a unique dining table they will donate to a local family in need as a part of our Build for Better initiative, where we are supporting individuals to build a better future. The best part is they’re bringing you along during their journey. Don’t miss the six weekly episodes with a season end finale. Follow along on our Instagram @catfootwear. Learn More HERE.

Keeping Our Employees Safe

For the safety and well-being of our employees, we’re taking proactive and important steps to limit potential exposure to COVID-19, which includes Cat Footwear employees working from home if able, as well as taking proactive measures for employees within our distribution center based on recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO), and other government agencies.

These steps include:

  • All team members who handle products at our distribution center are following recommended sanitation procedures, including thorough hand washing and other proper hygiene practices.
  • Cleaning protocols at our facilities comply with CDC guidance, emphasizing high-touch and high-traffic areas.
  • Action plans and protocols are in place for any team member who may have been exposed to the COVID-19 or shows symptoms of COVID-19. We’re closely monitoring the situation so that we can modify our response as needed.
