With CDC’s new mask recommendations and guidelines to wear a face mask in public settings including your trips to grocery ships, pharmacies and more, here is an easy DIY to help keep you and your family safe.
What You Need:
- Bandana (or square cotton cloth approximately 20″ x 20″)
- Coffee Filter (optional to place in center of fabric)
- Rubber bands (or hair ties)
Step 1: Fold your bandana or cotton cloth in half lengthwise.
Step 2: Fold the long sides of the fabric down and up to overlap in the middle.
Step 3: Take your rubber bands or hair ties and slide them onto each end of the bandana about 6 inches apart. These will be the ear loops. Adjust the middle section to fit your face as needed.
Step 4: Gently fold the fabric on the ends to the middle of the bandana and tuck each end into each other. Gather the sides of the mask on the elastic and adjust so the mask fits your face.
Step 5: Slide the bandana on your face by looping the elastic behind your ears.
